Malaria Eradication

“Can mosquito-borne diseases like malaria and dengue be eradicated, given the public apathy to sanitation and cleanliness?”
The complete eradication of mosquito-borne diseases like malaria and dengue seems a distant dream at the moment. Without people’s support, even control of such diseases is impossible. Science and medicine can do a promising job in this endeavor. However, people’s heed to it is pre-requisite. These diseases are commonly associated with poverty- poor sanitary conditions. If proper spraying is done and stagnated water is drained out, we can reach some sort of ‘eradication’. We have some examples like United States and Southern Europe where elimination of mosquito has been a success. This is possible in India provided these steps are followed in letter and spirit.

We should explore the ‘Home-Next’ and start its colonization
